I am delighted to announce that Helen Dunning Physiotherapy will be open from 15th June 2020 for essential face to face physiotherapy consultations. I will also be continuing with video consultations if preferred. Please call 07968 307721 or email  for any appointment queries.

Our regulatory body The Chartered Society of Physiotherapy recommends that where possible we should continue with video consultations.

I have carried out a full risk assessment for any patients coming into the clinic. Please do ask if you would like to view this. The risk assessment and following guidelines will be reassessed at regular intervals to ensure that we are adhering to all government guidelines.

I have put the following measures in place to reduce the risk to both yourself and myself. If you are considering attending a face to face physiotherapy appointment it is essential that you read and agree to the following:

  • Please do not attend if either you or a member of your household is in one of the higher risk categories
  • Please do not come in if you have not been following the government guidelines on social distancing
  • Please do not attend if either you or a member of your household has been ill in the last two weeks with any of the following; temperature over 37.5’C, new and persistent cough, shortness of breath, sore throat, headaches, fatigue or loss of taste/smell

I am increasing the length of time between appointments to allow me to change PPE and disinfect all surfaces that have been touched by either myself or a patient. This includes the plinth, chairs, door handles, taps, light switches and any equipment used.

Windows will be kept open during the appointment to maintain room ventilation. There is no air conditioning. Couch covers, pillow cases and towels will not be used. Single use couch roll and wipeable pillow cases will be used for every patient.

The clinic will be fully disinfected at the beginning and end of the day

I will wear the appropriate PPE. This is currently a Type 2R surgical face mask, disposable apron and latex free (single use) gloves. I advise that you also wear a face mask. I may ask your permission to remove the gloves if felt appropriate for certain techniques. I will ask for your consent for this. Hand washing and/or anti bacterial hand wash will be used before and after any techniques, always following the Pubic Health England recommended hand washing procedures. All PPE, couch roll and cleaning materials will be disposed of in line with the advised PHE guidelines after every appointment.

When arriving for your appointment, please remain in your car and I will come and get you. If you do meet anyone, please maintain a 2 metre distance.

I have done everything I can to reduce the risk of myself and patients contracting Covid-19, by following the Public Health England (PHE) and Infection Prevention and Control (IPC) guidelines. However, if you come for face to face treatment, please be aware that there is no way that we can completely eliminate the risk of you contracting Covid-19.

Thank you for reading the guidelines.
